Humanitarian Worker | Active Youth Leader | Management Director at RYEN

Maung Sulaiman, a dedicated humanitarian and active youth leader, was born on June 16, 2002, in Hlabowzar Haji-Para village, Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar. On August 5, 2017, due to the military-led violence against the Rohingya, he and his family were forced to flee to Bangladesh. They have since been living in a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar District.

He is the youngest son of Hamid Hossain and Jobeada Khatun and comes from a large family of nine members—his parents, six brothers, one sister, and himself. Sulaiman completed his studies up to Class 10 at Basic Education High School No. 1 in Maungdaw in 2015. His favorite subjects were Biology, History, and English, and he credits his teachers and parents for shaping his early values in discipline, etiquette, and responsibility.

Since 2019, he has been engaged in humanitarian service with organizations like NGO Forum and World Vision, contributing to the welfare of his fellow refugees.

As the Management Director of the Rohingya Youth Empowerment Network (RYEN), Sulaiman oversees internal planning and coordination, helping ensure that RYEN’s activities run smoothly and effectively. He is passionate about bringing change to his community and believes in building a future where every Rohingya youth has the chance to learn, lead, and thrive.
