RYEN Engagement Director
Mohammed Haled, also known as Maung Hla
Tin, is a committed educator, humanitarian worker, and community advocate with
deep roots in Arakan State, Myanmar. From 2013 to 2017, he served as a
volunteer teacher in his village, educating children from grades 1 to 6 and
sharing knowledge that empowered young minds.
On August 25, 2017, after fleeing the
violence in Arakan State, he resettled in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s
Bazar, Bangladesh. There, he continued his dedication to service by joining
humanitarian organizations. He has played a key role in conducting awareness
sessions for the Rohingya community, educating people about communicable
diseases and how to prevent viral infections.
For over seven years, Haled has also been
working with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), offering medical advice and
humanitarian support to vulnerable refugee populations. Beyond health, he
remains actively involved in social change—promoting education, discouraging
harmful practices like child marriage, and guiding the community toward a more
informed and respectful society.
As the Engagement Director of the Rohingya
Youth Empowerment Network (RYEN), Haled is responsible for building strong
connections within the community, encouraging participation, and ensuring that
RYEN’s activities reflect the needs and voices of the people. With his deep
experience and tireless commitment, he continues to be a vital bridge between
the organization and the community it serves.
